Wand Fun Factory Vim

Fun Factory Vim: a deep vibration wand

on

When Fun Factory announced their first “magic wand” vibrator, the Vim, I immediately wanted to test it.

The German brand, renowned for its bold designs and medical-grade silicone, was finally entering the wand market, dominated by classics like the Magic Wand. But the Fun Factory Vim doesn’t position itself as a brute force vibrator: it focuses on the depth of sensations. And that was a promise that intrigued me…

Here’s my review of this wand that’s not like the others.

Packaging of the sex toy

The Vim comes in a cardboard box, simple and classy.

Inside, you’ll find the vibrator, its Click’n’Charge magnetic cable (USB, with a proprietary magnetic tip on the sex toy side) and a small manual. Nothing revolutionary, but it’s clean and elegant.

Unboxing the Fun Factory Vim

Look of the Fun Factory Vim

The Fun Factory Vim features a modern design, with a vibrant coral red shade. It’s also available in midnight blue.
As soon as I held it in my hand, I noticed how light it was: 430 grams, according to its official spec sheet (yes, it’s precise)… Compared to my Doxy Die Cast, it’s a real feather! But what surprised me was this feeling of density concentrated in the head. Fun Factory has really worked on the balance: the handle barely vibrates, which prevents that unpleasant numbness in the fingers after a few minutes of use.

The head is imposing (6 cm in diameter, but never mind, we’re not going to insert it) and features a raised wavy pattern.

Texture and materials

The Fun Factory Vim is made of super soft medical-grade silicone.

Its textured handle prevents slipping, even with hands covered in lubricant or other fluids. Its head is adorned with spiral reliefs.

It’s pretty, it holds lubricant well… which has its advantages, although it doesn’t help during the cleaning stage.

As for its neck, it’s particularly flexible, which helps to orient the head as desired, no matter the position, without having to contort yourself.

Power supply

The Vim’s charger is no different from those of the brand’s other toys.

Named “Click & Charge”, red in colour, it plugs into a USB port, and magnetically attaches to the sex toy’s handle via two metallic “dots”.
The Vim is advertised as “water-resistant”, meaning you can wash it without fear of damaging it. However, it’s not waterproof: no use in the shower or bath.

Controls and modes

On the controls side, it’s simple and straightforward. On the brushed aluminium handle, there are three buttons: “+”, “-“ and a “FUN” button for turning on and off, via a long press. Nothing more, it’s efficient and you don’t get lost.
For me, the real highlight is the 5 constant speeds. You can adjust them with great precision using the “+” and “-” buttons, and that’s where the Vim really shines. The rumble stays stable and deep at each level, perfect for progressive and controlled stimulation.

The Vim also offers 3 vibration “pattern” programs, but for my part, I use them less often. There’s “Edging”, with intensity ups and downs to play on the edge of orgasm; “Quickie Orgasm”, which provides rapid pulsations for more intense stimulation; and “Deep Orgasm”, whose slow undulations create a more enveloping effect.

Using the Fun Factory Vim

Let’s get to the essentials: the sensations. I turn on the Vim.
From the first level, it’s not a vibration. It’s a deep, rumbling growl that seems to come from the bowels of the earth. It’s not the annoying superficial tickling of some vibrators that numbs you after five minutes. No. The Fun Factory Vim is something else.

When I apply it to my clitoris, the sensation is incredible. The vibration doesn’t stay on the surface. It feels like it penetrates, that it resonates well beyond the clitoral glans, that it caresses its internal structures, that hidden and so sensitive part. It’s a wave that shakes you from the inside, like the bass at an electronic music concert vibrating in your chest. The arousal doesn’t build in the same way. It’s slower, deeper, more… instinctive.

As you increase the power, the rumble maintains its quality. It intensifies, but never becomes high-pitched or aggressive. The Vim reaches its peak around level 4 or 5, and there, orgasm is guaranteed. A different, more expansive orgasm that seems to start from very far away and literally takes your breath away. It’s a truly unique sensation.
And the craziest thing about it all? The noise. Or rather, the lack of noise. For a vibrator that delivers such vibrational power, the Fun Factory Vim is almost shockingly discreet. Gone is the vacuum cleaner noise that forces you to lock the door and blast the music. Here, you could almost use it while reading a book next to someone who’s sleeping. That’s a huge advantage.
Its ergonomics are also perfect. The handle doesn’t vibrate, so no hand falling asleep after ten minutes. Its lightness allows you to hold it for a long time without fatigue. The flexible neck is a good idea for adapting to the body’s curves, even if I imagine those who like to press very hard might find it a bit soft.

But there are also a few drawbacks. The Vim didn’t make me cum in 30 seconds flat like my Doxy Die Cast can. Its raw power, although quite respectable, is less.
And there’s its head, adorned with that wavy line texture… To be honest, at times, on my clit, I found it a bit too present. It’s not painful, but with a somewhat sensitive clit, you feel the lines, a bit like micro-reliefs rubbing. It’s a shame, because it contradicts the incredible effort made to eliminate any form of irritation thanks to the motor. I’ve learned to use it with a slight rotating motion to avoid this effect, but it’s an adjustment to make.

Conclusion on the Fun Factory Vim

The Fun Factory Vim is an exceptional sex toy, a little engineering marvel that offers an unparalleled sensory experience. If you hate vibrations that are too superficial, and you’re looking for deep stimulation, this is probably the best vibrator in the world for you. Add to that the simplicity of use, a nice look, and a texture and weight distribution that allow for excellent handling, and you get a wand that’s definitely worth the detour.

Alas, there’s a hitch I must mention. Fun Factory has been acquired by the Satisfyer group, and the Vim is now discontinued. No more production. The copies for sale are the last ones. Satisfyer hasn’t been very talkative on the subject, and Fun Factory’s official website seems to be on standby (the site is still online, but all its products are listed as “out of stock”). In short, we don’t really know if the manufacturer’s warranty is still reliable.
Fortunately, shops like Rue des Plaisirs (who graciously provided this sex toy for this test) still have access to stocks, and provide their own customer service (it’s not the same as the manufacturer’s warranty, but it’s still pretty good).

Fun Factory Vim
The good points:

  • For a wand, the Vim is really very quiet.
  • It’s light, its handle doesn’t vibrate, which ensures excellent handling.
  • Overall, its quality seems excellent, with its very soft silicone and perfect finishes.

The bad points:

  • The texture of its head can sometimes be irritating for the most sensitive clitorises.
  • It’s not waterproof.
  • Product discontinued: if you want to get it, you need to hurry… And take into account that the manufacturer’s warranty question is currently quite unclear.
